PBIS- Positive Behavior Intervention and Support
Students Make Incredible Learning Environments! Students can earn a star ticket for positive behavior at school. These can be things they do voluntarily or something they are expected to do. At the end of each month there will be an assembly to celebrate with games and prizes. Star tickets are paper dollars that students earn at school for demonstrating STAR expectations. STAR stands for Self-Control, Take Responsibility, Attitude, and Respect. Our school wide expectations focus on these four areas and when your child is caught demonstrating STAR behavior they are given a STAR Buck. At the end of each month there will be raffles and prizes,
Writing Program
A mailbox system has been established to encourage letter writing. Students may write to students and staff members. Parents are also encouraged to become involved as well. Two main mailboxes are set up in the building for students to drop off their mail. The postal workers will sort and deliver the mail to individual classrooms by homeroom addresses.
Summer reading program
Summer Reading packets were sent home at the end of the last school year. The students are to turn their summer reading logs into their classroom teacher the first week of school. The student will be awarded for returning them.
Reading Programs
Our school participates in two reading programs throughout the school year. Students keep reading logs each month. The first program is called Book It! and then Six Flags Read to Succeed. Reading Logs will be sent home each month.
